Day 1 ~ Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport . Met on arrival and transfer to a magnificent lodge.

Day 2 ~ Tarangire National Park
Early morning departure for Tarangire National Park which lies approximately 7 km off the main Arusha-Dodoma road to the east of Lake Manyara. Game drive in this excellent Park, a classic piece of dry African woodland dotted with baobab trees and transected by the perennial Tarangire River.

Day 3 ~ Tarangire National Park
Full day game viewing in Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephant, huge baobab trees and the Tarangire River which attracts many animals from surrounding areas during the long dry season. The full range of large predators are resident here as are all the grazers and browsers, including gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. Tarangire also has a reputation as the best of the northern reserves for birds with around 500 species recorded in the Park.

Day 4 ~ Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast we drive towards the Great Rift Valley and enter into the groundwater forest of Lake Manyara National Park, driving slowly through large troops of baboons and watched from the surrounding trees by curious Vervet and Blue monkeys. Drive on towards the Lake and Hippo Pool, watched by stately giraffe, curious zebra and resident wildebeest, buffalo and elephant. Admire the many species of water birds, Egyptian Geese, brilliantly-colored Kingfishers and, on the Lake itself, the famed Greater and Lesser Flamingo. We continue to game drive in this small gem of a National Park until mid-afternoon, when we leave for overnight at the unique luxury lodge, E Unoto Retreat.

Day 5 ~ Lake Manyara / Lake Eyasi
From luxury lodge to a primal experience! Today we drive to the Lake Eyasi hinterland for a visit with the last Hunter/Gatherers. These are the Hadzabe people, the remaining link to East Africa’s most ancient human lifestyles and languages. The Hadzabe live in nomadic family bands. The men hunt with poisoned arrows and also gather honey, while women and children collect seeds, roots, fruit and tubers. Many still dress in animal skins in their traditional fashion.

Day 6 ~ Lake Eyasi – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning at Lake Eyasi with the bushmen – join in a hunt with them (but not if you are queasy about eating baboon meat afterwards!) In the afternoon we depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and dinner/overnight at Ndutu Lodge.

Day 7 ~ Serengeti Plains
Ngorongoro Crater Tour. After breakfast descend though the early Awake to birdsong on the vast Serengeti Plains among myriad game species and spectacular scenery. Look for lion, cheetah and hyaena on the short grass plains, search among trees and around kopjes for the elusive leopard, drive around lakes and along rivers for fantastic birdlife, follow the downward spiral of vultures to find predators with their new kills.

Day 8 ~ Serengeti National Park
After breakfast we drive to Lake Natron to visit the Maasai and their Today we drive north across the Serengeti Plains, continuing our magical game viewing adventure until we reach our next luxury overnight stop, Migration Camp.

Day 9 ~ Serengeti National Park
Full day in the northern Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous wildlife reserve.

Day 10 ~ Serengeti – Olduvai Gorge – Ngorongoro Highlands
Today we slowly wend our way back towards Ngorongoro, with game viewing and a visit to the small but interesting museum at Olduvai Gorge en route. A luxurious night awaits at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, perched on the Crater rim.

Day 11 ~ Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After early breakfast, descend to the floor of the Crater for a full day game drive among the many inhabitants of this Eighth Wonder of the World.

Day 12 ~ Ngorongoro - Arusha
Morning departure for Arusha for an afternoon at leisure and overnight at the beautiful Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge.

Day 13 ~ Arusha National Park
After breakfast drive to the nearby Arusha National Park. Optional morning walk in the Park with armed Ranger. Afternoon game drive; try to spot the Black and White Colobus monkeys in the forest area, sit quietly next to Momella Lakes with their flamingoes and many other bird species; look out for shy Dik Diks and other small antelopes.

Day 14 ~ Departure
At leisure. Dayroom Ngurdoto Lodge. Transfer KIA.
