Day 1 ~ Arrival to Arusha
You will be met on arrival at KIA and transferred to Mount Meru Game
Lodge for overnight.

Day 2 ~ Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, departure for Tarangire National Park which lies approximately
7 km off the main Arusha-Dodoma road to the east of Lake Manyara. Game
drive in this excellent Park, a classic piece of dry African woodland
dotted with baobab trees and transected by the perennial Tarangire River.
Morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire, famous for its large
herds of elephant and the river which attracts many animals from surrounding
areas during the long dry season. The full range of large predators
are resident here as are all the herbivores including fringe-eared oryx
and gerenuk. Tarangire also has a reputation as the best of the northern
reserves for birds, with around 500 species recorded in the Park.

Day 3 ~ Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast we leave Tarangire and drive through the Rift Valley
to the Ngorongoro Highlands with their spectacular scenery. Descend
to the Crater floor for a game drive among the “Big Five”;
look for black rhino around the marshy area, enjoy the prides of lion,
clans of hyaena, the occasional elephant, flamingoes on the lake, serval
cats with their hunting leaps in the grass and much, much more. Picnic
at the hippo pool (here you should watch out for the circling black
kites who have become used to swooping down and grabbing whatever bits
of food they can with their sharp talons!). In the late afternoon we
ascend from the Crater floor to enjoy the sunset and a luxurious night
at our Lodge, situated on the Crater rim.

Day 4 ~ Ngorongoro Conservation Area –
Serengeti National Park
Today we leave Ngorongoro and drive down to the vast Serengeti
Plains. En route we will visit Olduvai Gorge (more properly ol-dupai,
the Maasai name for sisal) where the palaeontologist, Louis Leakey and
his equally famous archaeologist wife, Mary, discovered skulls and other
remains of our hominid ancestors. The museum at Olduvai is well worth
a visit, containing as it does artifacts, photographs, fossil replicas
and other information about this historical site. Bird lovers will enjoy
the barbets, boubous, chatterers, weavers and brightly-attired purple
grenadiers who are resident here. We continue with our game viewing
into Serengeti National Park and our next luxury lodge where relaxing
showers and an excellent dinner await you.

Day 5, 6 ~ Serengeti National Park
Two full days with game drives in Serengeti National Park, world famous
for its annual migration of the million-strong wildebeest and zebra
herds as well as large numbers of predators resident on the Plains.
Lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyaena, silver-back and golden jackal,
bat-eared foxes and the smaller cats (serval, caracal, genet, etc.)
all live and hunt in this animal kingdom.

Day 7 ~ Serengeti – Lake Manyara National Park
Today after breakfast we retrace our steps and cross once more Ngorongoro
on our way to a sumptuous lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, nestled
against the Great Rift Valley wall. Afternoon at leisure, simply relaxing
by the large pool with its views over Lake Manyara Park or perhaps enjoying
some of the activities, such as canoeing on the Lake, which can be booked
at this Lodge.

Day 8 ~ Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater Tour. After breakfast descend though the early After
breakfast on this, our last safari day, we enter into the groundwater
forest of Lake Manyara National Park, driving slowly through large troops
of baboons and watched from the surrounding trees by curious Vervet
and Blue monkeys. Drive on towards the Lake and Hippo Pool, watched
by stately giraffe, curious zebra and resident wildebeest, buffalo and
elephant. Admire the many species of water birds, Egyptian Geese, brilliantly-colored
Kingfishers and, on the Lake itself, the famed Greater and Lesser Flamingo.
In the late afternoon we drive back to Arusha
